Our History
In Memoriam
Joseph Fiorita Jr., CPA
Our founding partner passed away in 2021. Joe was a proud Danbury native, graduate of Danbury High School and Mount St. Mary’s College.
Since starting the firm in 1973, he has been a trusted advisor, an amazing mentor, and a paternal figure to his employees and clients alike.
His lively spirit, family values, and business mission will forever live in our hearts and minds.
Founded in 1973, Fiorita, Kornhaas & Company is a leading accounting firm based in Danbury & Southbury Connecticut.
Our success is based on a commitment to excellence, providing clients with assistance based on years of advanced training, technical experience and financial acumen. We view every client relationship as a partnership, and we strongly believe our success is a result of our client’s success.
Every client is important to our firm. It is a basic tenet of our practice that our partners and professionals are actively involved with all of the clients for whom they are directly responsible, whether to advise or to act as a sounding board. We are committed to making each of our clients our top priority. We will respond to your emails and phone calls by the end of each day if not immediately. Additionally, we do our best to keep staff continuity on our engagements.
Our alliance with BDO and memberships in the AICPA and CT CPA provide us with invaluable resources for our clients. We are an independent member of the BDO Alliance, USA, a nationwide association of independently owned local and regional accounting, consulting and service firms with similar client service goals. This allows us to expand the technical resources and experienced professionals available to our clients.
